D & T Enterprises was founded in April of 1976 by the
husband and wife team Tom and Donna Hay. Thomas Hay ran the
business out of his garage, specializing in nuts and bolts.
Donna Hay handled the administration work. D & T was incorporated
in 1979, continuing in the garage below their house. The business
experienced tremendous growth for the next 9 years. In 1988,
D & T purchased a 2400 square foot building at 131 James
Circle, located in Cedar Bluff, VA. This year also saw the
first employee hired other than Tom and Donna. Employees came
and went for the next 17 years. Currently D & T employees
8 total employees. Two have been with D & T 29 years,
three for 10 years, one for 3 years, one for 1 1/2 years,
and one new employee, who has been there for one month. Since
1988 when the first building was purchased, there have been
two additions: - In 1990 there was a 1200 square foot addition
to the west side, and in 1994 a 1500 square foot addition
was added to the east side.
D &
T began specializing in nuts and bolts. They now specialize
in nuts, bolts, all thread, washers, drill bits, stainless
steel tube fittings, hydraulic torque wrenches, and other
specialty items. D & T is continuing to grow and if
